Dezawa Muse cells
Muse cells are a small population of cells found in adult tissue. Dezawa MuseCells® are the product made from them.

What Muse cells are
Muse cells, short for multilineage-differentiating stress enduring cells, are a small population of cells found in adult tissues such as bone marrow, fat and skin. Dr. Mari Dezawa's research team in Japan first described them in 2010. They are identified by a surface marker called SSEA-3.
Who makes the product
Dezawa MuseCells® come from MuseCell Innovations, the exclusive worldwide licensor of Dezawa MuseCells®. Encompass Biologics is an authorized distributor and supplies them to licensed physicians, not to patients.
MuseCell Innovations also makes Dezawa MuseExosomes®, an exosome product from Muse cell culture. An exosome is a particle a cell releases; it is not a cell.
Where it may be offered
Live Muse cells may be injected in a clinic only in states that allow it, and that list changes as state laws change. The doctor search shows the states on file and the date of the list.
Dezawa products have not been evaluated or approved by the FDA. A physician decides whether one fits your care.
Questions to ask your doctor
Bring these to the appointment. A good practice will answer them plainly.
- Is this authentic Dezawa MuseCells®, and can I see the lot certificate?
- Does this state allow live Muse cells to be injected in a clinic?
- What are the possible risks for someone in my situation?
